Ocean Blue is offering the opportunity for a select few anglers to join this exploratory live on board expedition! Fishing aboard a 40 ft Antares game fisher, you’ll experience remote angling in New Caledonia’s warm waters, made famous for the fish which inhabit the world’s second largest coral reef and the worlds largest lagoon. On this trip you’ll explore pristine fishing grounds targeting bruiser GT’s, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, sailfish and other bluewater and lagoon sportsfish. You can expect to be casting poppers over coral reefs and bommies, dropping jigs over sea mounts and drop offs, and trolling reef fringes and current lines for pelagics. The possibilities on an exploratory live on board in this area are extensive.
We will aim at targeting species that are plentiful during that time frame from GT’s, dogtooth tuna, wahoo, marlin, sailfish, and mahi mahi to yellowfin tuna, red bass, coral trout, and job fish giving all on board plenty of rod time. We do have the flexibility of tailoring the itinerary to suit the interests and requests of the anglers onboard. Below is the sample itinerary for your consideration.
Day 1
Arrive in Noumea, upon arrival you will be transferred to the Nouvata Park hotel for your first evening of accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure.
Day 2-5
Board your vessel early morning and commence your charter. During this expedition you’ll fish grounds rarely visited by other anglers. Pristine reef systems, underwater sea mounts and New Caledonia’s famous lagoon and islets, not only offer superb fishing but spectacular scenery. Target GT’s in pristine territory with arguably the world’s best GT guides. If jigging is your thing then massive dogtooth tuna, coral trout, jobfish and red bass will test your will and tackle. Then there are wahoo, sailfish, marlin, mahi mahi and a host of other species found in the warm offshore currents. After an enjoyable days fishing you will return to one of the many secluded calm anchorages where you can enjoy a swim, snorkel or venture on to shore. Enjoy a well earned beer during dinner, or if you wish, continue catching a few night time fish from your anchorage. Accommodation is on board each evening. On your last day of charter, after arriving back to port, enjoy a drink with the crew before heading into Noumea for your evenings accommodation.
Day 6
Transfer will be provided from your resort to the airport for your return flight.
