Ocean Blue is offering the perfect opportunity for a select few anglers to join this exploratory live on board expedition! Fishing aboard ‘Fiesta’, a Cresta 46 game fisher, you’ll experience some of the most remote angling around the northern Vanuatu island of Santo. On this trip we’ll explore pristine fishing grounds targeting as many species as possible using a variety of techniques from popping, jigging and trolling. Depending on the interests of all on board we do have the flexibility of tailoring the itinerary to suit anglers requests. We will aim at targeting species that are plentiful during that time frame from wahoo, mahi mahi, dogtooth tuna, marlin, sailfish, and yellowfin tuna to GT’s, red bass, coral trout, and job fish giving all on board plenty of rod time.
Below is the sample itinerary for your consideration.
Itinerary
Arrive in Espiritu Santo. Upon arrival at Santo airport you will be transferred to Coral Quays resort for your first evening of accommodation.
Board your vessel early morning and commence your charter. Fish the next 5 days around the islands and sea mounts surrounding Espiritu Santo. Main targets include blue marlin, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, sailfish, mahi mahi, GT’s and dogtooth tuna. Over these 5 days you’ll search for bait schools that frequent the island edges holding large yellowfin tuna and wahoo, visit seamounts home to the resident dogtooth tuna, wahoo and monster GT’s, and troll the 1000 metre wide drop off for blue marlin and yellowfin tuna. Each evening you will return to a secluded anchorage for a swim or snorkel before a well earned ale and evening meal. For the enthusiastic angler, drop a bait over the side at night for red bass, sweetlip, GT’s or dogtooth tuna. Accommodation is on board each evening. On Day 6, after arriving back into Santo, enjoy a few drinks with the crew before heading back to Coral Quays Resort for your overnight accommodation.
Transfer will be provided from Coral Quays Resort to Santo airport in time to get your return flight.
