Ocean Blue was on the water 20 days, fished from Port Vila to the Banks Islands and back again. The Banks Islands are certainly a must fish location.

Here are the numbers for the trip

Bolero’s high light of the Month was during the Tusker International Game Fish Classic 2005, 26th and 27th. Donna McLean cleaned up, winning top female honours, plus best catch (with her record breaking 88.6kg Blue Marlin on 24kg line) Donna caught two Billfish in the tournament a 45 kg Sailfish which was tagged and released. This was Donna’s 2nd trip fishing with us; she now has 5 Billfish to her credit in 4 days on the water. Her biggest fish was tagged and released on the 21st of Oct. a whopping 300kg Blue.

Ocean Blue 2 has been out 20 days this month. Captain Charlie Tui has been hammering the Billfish on light tackle. His best day of the month was 3 Blue’s on an 8 hour charter including an estimated 300kg fish.

December is looking like a hot blue marlin month around the local waters of Port Vila! The first 3 days out fishing this month on Ocean Blue Stefan Hoffmann-Kuhnt, and Dr. Martin Hohmann of Germany each tagged their first Blue Marlin, a pair of blue’s each!

Ocean Blue 2 had a day to remember on Friday the 9th where 3 Aussie anglers tagged a Blue each and raised a total of 7 fish! The fish are coming in waves were multiple hook-ups add to the excitement. The hottest area has been just outside of town on Devils reef in 300 meters of water! Schools of small yellow fin and skip jack are thick around the fad buoys making live baiting a sure bet! If the month continues like this some impressive numbers will be racked up!

The Blue tagged on Dec. 7th on Ocean Blue was Captain Mark (Corky) Decker’s 90th Vanuatu Billfish for 05 since  joining Ocean Blue’s team on June 25th! At this rate Corky is on pace for 212 fish in a full 12 month year!

These numbers show why we have the best blue marlin fishing in the world.
