A number of big fish up to 70kg were caught just off the northern Efate drop off, and as they appeared a few nice blue marlin were encountered feeding off the edges of the tuna schools. The blues caught were all around the 250-300lb mark and provided anglers Darren and Hollie Murrey with a blue marlin of 180kg while they were fishing aboard Ocean Blue 2.
Our live on board charters were also firing this month, with Mark Eldridge’s 4 day trip hooking onto a total of 4 blue marlin, Mark claiming 2 of the big blues himself. The guys aboard had no shortage of action though with wahoo, mahi mahi and yellowfin keeping them busy for the full 4 days!
The Longs charter was also another extremely exciting live on board trip. David and Sandy spent 13 days fly fishing up around the spectacular and remote Banks Islands, and finished the charter with claim on 7 world records between them!
