| POINT STUART WILDERNESS LODGE Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge is located in the heart of the beautiful Mary River Wetlands 2 hours drive east of Darwin via the Arnhem Hwy. The lodge is named after the explorer John McDouall Stuart who trekked through this area on his successful journey from southern Australia to the northern coast in 1862. Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge was once known as Jimmy's Creek Abattoir which processed the huge numbers of water buffalo that inhabited the wetlands during the 1960's to the early 1980's, & was part of the original Point Stuart Station. Perfectly situated, it is the ideal base to explore the wilderness of Australia 's Top End – Mary River Wetlands, Shady Camp Reserve & Kakadu National Park. The lodge is nestled beside a monsoonal Vineforest only a short distance from Australia 's premier barramundi fishing hotspot Shady Camp. The Lodge offers air-conditioned budget & deluxe accommodation with private facilities. ACCOMODATION Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge offers both deluxe and budget accommodation. 24 rooms are available in four separate blocks surrounded by shady lawn areas and wildlife including the large population of Agile Wallabies. All rooms are in close proximity to the pool, bar and bistro. We cater for all groups large and small, conference groups, private functions, fly-in charters and campers. LODGE/DELUXE ROOMS The 15 Lodge/Deluxe rooms range from double and twin share up to 5 share. Perfect for couples, groups of fisherman and families. Features include air-conditioning, private bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, all linen, and bar fridge. Lodge/Deluxe rooms are serviced daily. |
