Arrive in Port Vila. You will be met at Port Vila airport and transferred to the Formule Hotel for your overnight stay.
Evening at leisure. Enjoy a meal at one of Port Vila’s numerous restaurants or bars.
After your hotel pick-up meet your captain and crew at our charter base for your charter briefing. Board your vessel and head out for your first days fishing. Head north casting poppers on the reef edges of Hat and Moso islands before heading north to the Nguna volcano. Arrive at Nguna on dusk for the dogtooth tuna bite. Troll the 40 metre mark for dogtooth tuna and wahoo before anchoring. Overnight at anchorage in the lee of Nguna Island.
After breakfast and a leisurely swim or snorkel we head north to fish the Shepherd Islands. First stop is Monument Rock home of the resident dogtooth tuna and wahoo. After a few hours of rod bending action we head further north trolling the Matasso Sea Mount for marlin and yellowfin tuna on our way to the island of Emae. Overnight at anchorage in the lee of Emae Island. For the enthusiastic angler, drop a bait or jig over the side at night for red bass and sweetlip.
After an early start, head to nearby Cooks Reef targeting big GT’s and dogtooth tuna. For those keen GT anglers we’ll now get the poppers and jigs firing for your chance at 60-100 pound Giant Trevally and Dogtooth Tuna. As we head further north we target sailfish on our way to our overnight anchorage at Namouka Island. Before setting anchor, cast poppers and drop jigs around Namouka well known for its large GT’s.
After a leisurely start, today we first fish Namouka Island, casting poppers along the reef edges and steep walls that surround the island. Then we head west to the Day Patches, a series of sea mounts providing excellent jigging for dogtooth tuna, red bass, jobfish, coral trout and cod. We then head to the islands of Tongoa and Tongariki arriving before dusk. We arrive for the late afternoon dogtooth tuna bite before setting anchor. Overnight on anchorage at the island of Tongoa.
Today we fish the islands of Tongoa and Tongariki casting poppers on the fringing reefs and steep walls. There are a number of volcanic outcrops in the areas holding some big fish, providing spectacular fishing. We then head south back through to Cooks Reef heading back to the island of Emae. We fish the reef edges of Emae jigging for coral trout, jobfish and red bass before setting anchor. Overnight at Emae.
After an early start we head south on our way back to Port Vila. Today we’ll troll lures on our southward journey. As we get closer to home we’ll fish the reef edges of Tuku Tuku Reef and Devils Point for our last crack at big GT’s. After arriving at our charter base and high fives all round enjoy a few drinks with the crew before heading back to your overnight accommodation at the Formule Hotel. Top off your last night with a dinner at one of the many superb restaurants in Port Vila.
