This is the second year in a row that Bunkers have headed to Vanuatu for their game fishing fix – and this years tournament has been branded a fabulous success!
The group based themselves in Port Vila and headed out to the local hotspots each day with all anglers keen to take home a trophy. The fishing throughout the tournament ranged from light tackle right through to heavy tackle and the anglers were kept on their toes with plenty of fishing action over the 3 days. A total of 82 fish were caught over a broad range of species including blue marlin, wahoo, yellowfin tuna and mahi mahi! By the end of the 3 day tournament our vessels Ocean Blue and Bolero had finished 2nd and 3rd. Here’s what Bunker’s tournament organiser Mike Luke had to say “The whole tournament went down really well, we had a fantastic time – it was just magic. We will definitely be back next year”. Various prizes for were awarded at the conclusion of the event. Listed below is just a few of the successful anglers.
Greg Murphy – Fish of the Tournament Award. Greg battled a blue marlin for a whopping 7 hours to take out this award.
