| Aurukun trips are fully guided and we recommend a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of 7 days for a full-on, yet relaxing, fishing experience. We encourage minimum booking of 2 anglers, however we reserve the option to combine bookings where suitable to achieve optimum numbers. Bookings of 5 or more anglers will guarantee a “sole charter”. A maximum of 8 anglers applies. Please note we can also tailor a trip to suit your individual requirements. AURUKUN LIVE ON BOARD SPORT FISHING ADVENTURE First Day Arrive Cairns airport. Transfer to Skytrans desk and check-in for your flight to Aurukun. After arriving in Aurukun you will be met by the crew and transferred to your mothership. After a short orientation and cool beverage head out for an afternoon cast targeting barramundi, threadfin salmon and queenfish off the river mouths and sand banks. Day 2 Onwards After breakfast board your custom built tender and begin your day’s fishing. Whilst on charter you’ll head to the Love, Ward, Archer and Watson Rivers. These isolated locations offer spectacular fishing casting minnows and soft plastics for huge barra, and black jewfish. Head further up the river fishing the snags and rock bars for feisty fingermark and mangrove jack. Weather permitting you’ll have the opportunity to head up the coast and fish the numerous inshore reefs and red cliffs targeting cod, coral trout, golden trevally, spanish mackeral and permit, or why not head up into the fresh water casting to lilly pads for the elusive Saratoga. Late afternoon stop and check the crab pots for mud crabs before heading back to the mothership for a cold beer and hearty dinner. Final Day After an early breakfast head out for your last morning session on the Archer targeting big barramundi. Head back to the mothership mid morning and prepare for your afternoon departure. You’ll be transferred to the airport ready for your connecting flight to Cairns.
